The Yard Project

We are having lots done out here on our yard. We have had all of the grass (really it was 90% weeds) dug up in preparation for new grass and an updated irrigation system. We are having two side walls built. These are walls between our neighbors. We are a planter built in the back that will be for vegetables and herbs and a Dwarf Myer Lemon Tree. We are having a small wall built in the front planter to keep the dirt from falling all over the sidewalk. We are tying one small planter up at the front of the house into the new wall so we can have a plant or two, instead of just a pile of rocks and debris that gather. We also decided to have the back concrete strip ripped out and have a very small planter hold our new trees and some flowers. I think the last wall that we decided will make the yard look more complete. We will be having a gate installed and a new driveway poured as well. From one of the last posts, I mentioned the tree we removed from the front of the house pulled up the driveway and posed a hazard, so we are having that fixed.

We will have a pretty safe place for the kids to play and some fun gardening experiences for the kids to enjoy. I will also enjoy my gardening! The yard won't have some crazy renegade sprinklers anymore, it will be awesome. For now, it is a work in progress. The photos are wild. The amount of materials and machines that have been here have been quite an adventure for Noah and Lily. They miss their grass, Noah told me his grass was all gone and he missed it! They will have it back soon enough.

Enjoy the ride! More pictures will come. Stucco gets put on the walls on Saturday. Then one thing will feel more finished.

The Yard Project

Random April photos.

The kids played outside as much as they could before the yard got ripped up. Now we mostly go to the greenbelt nearby to run and play, or Noah just jumps on dirt piles in the yard. We got a few shots of just hanging out. Monte and I babysat for Noah's friend Blake Sunday night. The two of them play so well together. Lily thinks they are just the greatest excitement ever.

Fun!

Easter 2009

Happy Easter! He is Risen!

We had a lovely Easter Sunday. We started our morning late, with a few eggs filled with cheerios, puffs, animal crackers and cheddar bunnies. They found their baskets and traded DVD's. Noah got to have a few jelly beans and a fun time was had by all.

We then headed out to Church. What better way to celebrate Easter than with a baby Baptism. Our friends John and Mandi Stiles baptized their almost 4 week old Aaron Joshua at their Easter Service. What a nice way to spend such a glorious day! We all headed back to the Stiles to celebrate and kick back, food was good, kids were good and the company was great, our extended CA family is awesome!

The kids both totally crashed and had good naps after such a long morning. We took it easy played with bubbles and outside before we had a mini-dinner of our own with our friend Zach. We didn't get pictures of Zach, but we sure are glad that he joined us for dinner.

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter!

Susan took some video of the kids playing on Easter.

Happy Easter to everybody!

Bounce House!

Noah, Adin, and Lily got to play in the bounce house at Adin's house.

The boys bounced around like crazy; Lily had a great time just sitting there!

April news.

We had a BIG day on 4/4! Noah is now in his toddler bed. We call it his 'Big Boy Bed'. It is the same bed, just converted. We made a huge deal out of it. Took photos saying 'bye bye' to the crib and he 'helped' Daddy take his bed apart and put it together. Lily participated too. It was a good morning. Noah was very excited about it. That afternoon he even put himself to bed for a nap! He also slept in it great that night. No getting up or anything. I am not sure he is aware that he 'can' get out of it at night. He just didn't.

After naps the association hosted a little Easter Egg hunt. It was cute. We dropped of 12 filled eggs per kid during the week and the Association volunteer spread them all out, there were three or four different age groups for each hunt. It lasted about an hour. It was cute.

There are a couple of dinner shots in here as well. Lily is determined to feed herself her own dinner. She is also quite vocal about what she wants. She ALWAYS wants what we are eating or cooking or holding. She yelled at me for like 5 minutes while I was cutting up raw onions the other day. Sheesh!

Anyways, here are some pictures. Enjoy!
