October 2010

October is always a fun-filled, action packed busy month. We love it!

Farmers Market with Friends
Visit with Gramma and Papa
Apple Picking
Pumpkin Patch
Noah's Birthday and his party (2 days)
My Birthday get away to Vegas (Gramma and Papa are the best.)
BBQ with WoW friends
Harvest Festival at School
Trick or Treating at Blizzard
Parent Pit Stop/Trick or Treating/ Friends for dinner on 10/31

The monkey and banana did not pose well together and then the banana spilled hot chocolate on himself, I am not sure we will ever have a really yellow banana again.

Maui - July 2010

We went with my parents and the kids to Maui for the first 11 days in July. What an amazing trip we had. We went for a wedding for some wonderful friends of ours. Talk about a beautiful destination wedding. Lots of time with the kids, some time for just Monte and I on our own. My folks had some time alone as well. Just amazing. These are just a few of the pictures we took. We did so much and saw so much. I look forward to going back some day.

Looking back at the pictures makes me remember how much we did not want to leave. We will definitely go back.

September 2010

September was full of fun, but a little less busy. We had some free weekends where we just kinda hung out together. It was nice.

Highlights of September:

Sleepover at the San Diego Wild Animal Park
White Sox won at an Angels game
Noah went back to school on the 7th
Open house at school
Finished up with Swim lessons for the year.
Said goodbye to our beloved kitty Cassanova on 9/20/10 :(

Back to our usual school schedule. I can't believe how fast summer went. Noah only gets 9 weeks off for summer break. I could have sworn the summers were longer when I was a kid. He was thrilled to be back in school and with his friends. He loves his teachers and doing his work and playing with his friends and eating lunch with his friends.

The kids started doing art projects once a week during the end of summer. I have tried to continue to have some form of art project for them once a week or every other week. I think their favorite was painting this house I got at Costco about 2 years ago. I got it thinking it would be a great idea for the kids, but I'd wait. I waited awhile, and though they were young, I thought - go - have at it. What a hoot!

August 2010

VBS was the first whole week of August. It was great fun. I volunteered every day, Lily was in the nursery (for volunteer kids) and Noah was in his first official VBS class. It was SO much fun!

Highlights of August included:

Circus with Noah's school
Swim lessons
Gymnastics
2 Pool parties
2 Birthday parties
2 Luaus
OC Fair
Wild Rivers Water Park
A mini- Cirque preview at a shopping center (super hot that day).

A fun week of babysitters and Daddy while Momma went back to Chicago to say Goodbye to her Grandpa. :) and :(

We kinda just 'lived' in August instead of document it. Here are some shots though. :)

July 2010

Three words to describe this month. Busy but FUN!

Hawaii for 11 days. (This will have to be another whole post.)
Momma to Chicago.
Daddy to Chicago.

All the stuff in between gymnastics and swim lessons.

June 2010

Wow, two posts in about an hour - how can it be?

June was fun for us. Noah's school goes all the way to June 30th, so we stayed close to home. Us Krol's like to have fun!

Enjoy!

(Again - some repeats for our FB friends.)

May 2010

It has been SO LONG since I have posted. May - October can we just say SWOOSH!!!!

Here are a few shots from the rest of May.

Noah had a Mother's Day tea at school. They sang 'You are my Sunshine' while holding little suns they made with paper plates.
We went to the WAP with our friends and had some fun there!
Lily and I did some hanging out at the house, she has an amazing imagination and has grown so much just since May!

Spring Break 2010

For Spring Break we went up to San Jose for a visit. We went to see Grandma LaLa, Auntie Rose and our friends Ty & Kristy and their kids Jitao, Miles and Daphne. We decided to make the journey part of the trip as well as the destination. So we did LOTS of stuff. AND had LOTS of FUN!

We went to:

The Santa Barbara Zoo
Morro Bay
Carmel by the Sea
Happy Hollow - Mini-amusement park and zoo.
Monterey Bay Aquarium
San Luis Obispo - Children's Day with rides and face-painting.

Grandma LaLa also treated us all to Bocce and a yummy Italian dinner. It was so much fun. Noah and Lily loved playing with Jitao, Miles and Daphne! They ask about them all the time and are ready to go back. Noah and Lily also liked playing on the swings and petting Auntie Rose's dogs Sugar and Lucy.

On the way up and back we stayed one night in San Luis Obispo. We all slept in one room together; turns out, it can be done! Now Noah wants Daddy to lay by his bed every night until he falls asleep. I am wondering if he got used to hearing Daddy snoring. :)

Here are some of the highlights.

Enjoy!

Lily's 2nd Birthday Party

What a wonderful Birthday Party Lily had.

It was a flower and balloon theme. The cake was a flower, the favors were flowers, the balloons were flowers, until they all popped on the grass. It was a pretty windy day. We had a bounce house and a balloon artist (kmmy_ngyn@yahoo.com). Oh, what a wonderful time all of the kids had. We had a total of 16 kids and a friend of ours (http://tristanpope.com/) did us a favor by taking photos for us. He took over 1000 of them. Wow! It has taken some time to go through them all.

Here are some of the highlights for my dear friends and family who were unable to attend due to being across the miles.

Lily's Birthday Day

Happy 2nd Birthday Lily!

What a fun Birthday Lily had. Daddy took the day off for her special day. We started the morning with Balloons and Streamers, one present, then we were off to Noah's Gymnastics class.

Then it was all Lily, all the time. We went to the Shops at Mission Viejo for her morning festivities. We started with Build-a-Bear, she picked a Hello Kitty and shoes. Then we went to a fun place for lunch called Ferrel's. It was rowdy and fun.

After naps Lily opened her presents, she was thrilled with her baby stuff, and her hello Kitty anything.

We then met some friends at The Old Spaghetti Factory for dinner. I brought her Birthday cake to share. There was singing and cake and ice cream eating. Big day for our Big girl. She was a whole lot of smiles all day!

Birthday party post to come.

Enjoy!

January 2010

January has come to an end. It is amazing how fast time flies! We had a fun filled January. Grandma and Papa Van came and visited for just a couple of days. It went fast, too fast. The kids miss them already.

On the 30th Lake Forest had a snow day. They came and dumped a ton of snow on a hill at a nearby park and had sledding for the kids. If the kids were under 6 they needed to be with an adult to go down. The place was packed. They had rides and food and an extra little play area. We had a lot of fun. Noah asks to go sledding every day now. We plan on going to the mountains over the weekend of February 20th, we are hoping for some snow so we can try to get them in it. They just loved it!

Happy New Year!

Hello friends and family! Happy 2010 to you!

Here are a few pictures from Christmas Eve Eve service at church, Christmas, Jesus' Birthday cake, the Richard Nixon Presidential Library, and Monte's Birthday.

We have had a fun January already! We celebrated Monte's Birthday with our friends the Kotrba's and then we had a Winter Warm up Party here at our house with a bunch of friends and neighbors. What a hoot! We had 82 people at the house in an 8 hour span. We certainly did 'Warm-up'. The party was a pot luck of soups, stews and Chili's and yummy breads. It ended up being 78 outside, so it was quite warm for the 'warm-up' party. I just told our guests that we 'warmed-up' Orange county!

Looking forward to watching the kids grow this year, seeing friends and family throughout (not Chicago this year) and just seeing what God has planned for us and those around us.

My folks will be here on Saturday and are in for a couple of days before they head down to San Diego. Monte and I are going to take advantage and get a date in! :)

Love to all,

Our prayers are for a happy, healthy new year full of Love, Peace and Grace for you all!

Susan

Happy New Year!
